About Tod:

Tod is a certified USPTA professional tennis instructor. He is the head coach of the McFarland Boys’ and Girls’ Tennis teams, with more than 30 years of high school varsity tennis coaching experience.  Tod has also led numerous programs for the Greater Madison Area Tennis Association (GMTA) including their Winter and Summer Skills Development classes, which are focused on high school level play.  Tod was named Girls’ Tennis Coach of the Year by the Wisconsin High School Tennis Coaches Association in 2015 and Boys’ Tennis Coach of the Year in 2018.

Group Classes:

Group classes at Grand Slam Tennis focus on fun and skill improvement. For the younger students, the classes are relaxed and designed to introduce them to the sport through fun and games, but also learning the basic skills at the same time. For the older students, the classes still incorporate lots of games but focus more on skill improvement.  Generally classes are capped at around 10 children. Group classes are offered Monday through Thursday with two- or four-day-a-week registration options. There are three sessions offered each summer. This class is intended for students who are at a higher level of play and want more competition to prepare for High School.

Private and Semi-Private Lessons:

For those who are interested in taking their tennis game a step further, Tod offers private and semi-private lessons. Private lessons are offered for both children and adults. These lessons are based on your schedule and can be private or for a small group of people. The rate for private lessons is $50/hour and can be split between the group.
